What it does for you

How it works.
Your cells use methyl groups to make creatine, build cell membranes and switch genes on and off. TMG carries three methyl groups and hands one on. It is also the partner of NAD Total: when your cells use NAD+, nicotinamide is released and cleared with methyl groups, and TMG supplies them.
- Methyl group
- A tiny building block of one carbon and three hydrogens (CH₃). Putting it on a molecule changes what that molecule does.
- Methylation
- Attaching a methyl group to a molecule. Cells do it all the time to make creatine, build membranes and switch genes.
- Methyl donor
- A molecule that hands on a methyl group. TMG carries three and gives one away in the liver and kidneys.
- Nicotinamide
- What is left when the cell uses NAD+. Part of it is cleared with a methyl group, and that is where TMG comes in.

How to use it.
- 1One capsule a day, preferably with a meal. Many take it in the morning with NAD Total.
- 2NAD Total contains 200 mg TMG and Nordic Total 400 mg. With one TMG capsule as well, that is 1,100 mg a day.
- 3Tolerates room temperature but keeps best in a cool, dry and dark place. In the fridge if it is to last several months.
Not for children and teenagers under 18. Consult a health professional before taking supplements, especially if you have an underlying condition, are pregnant, breastfeeding or take medication. Add up the TMG from all products: a daily intake above 4 g of betaine may significantly increase blood cholesterol.
